Congressman Higgins to Host Military Academy Night

Students, Parents, School Administrators & Guidance Counselors Invited to Informational Meeting 


Congressman Brian Higgins (NY-27) will host Academy Night 2010, an opportunity for high school students, their families, school administrators and counselors to find out more about Military Academy institutions, programs and the application process. 

“We invite those interested to come to Academy Night, hear about the schools first hand from Academy representatives and learn how to apply,” said Congressman Higgins. 

Holy Angels Academy Invites Girls and Their Families to Fall Open House

Holy Angels Academy will host fall Open Houses on Saturday, October 2 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. and Monday, October 4 from 5 - 7 p.m.  We invite girls in grades 5th - 8th and their families to tour our campus and meet teachers and students while learning more about our academic and extra-curricular opportunities.  

Holy Angels also invites 8th graders to participate in the "Anglel for a Day" program.  This allows girls to see firsthand what a typical day is like here.  Girls are matched with a current student and accompany her for the day, sitting in on classes and meeting her friends.

Universal Pre-K Program Now Offered at The Belle Center

The Belle Center now has a Universal Pre-K Program. Universal Pre-K starts September 8th, 2010 and operates from 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Monday – Friday.

Catholic School Teachers Go Back to School

With the start of the new school year less than two weeks away, Catholic elementary school teachers are not only busy preparing their classrooms, they are engaged in professional development as well.

During the week of August 17, the diocesan Department of Catholic Schools hosted a number of workshops, ranging from brain-based learning to using learning centers in the classroom.

The sessions included:  Brain Based Learning: Procedures and strategies to address all learners; Using Learning Centers in the Primary Classroom; a Practical Guide to Design and Manage Learning Centers.

Autistic Services, Inc. Returns to ArtSpace for 2010

(BUFFALO, NEW YORK) The return of Autistic Services to ArtSpace means more than 30 artists from their Arts Program will be highlighted.  This successful program allows the participants of Autistic Services Inc. to communicate through many different art media thus showing their understanding of composition, color theory and the use of space. “Many people with Autism are challenged by living in our mainstream society. But that doesn’t mean they cannot find other ways of communicating with the public. Art is a sophisticated way of doing that,” says Veronica Federiconi, Executive Director of Autistic Services Inc.

ArtSpace will once again welcome the show which will be exhibited from August 6 to August 28.  The exhibit opens with a reception on Friday, August 6, 2010 from 6PM until 9PM. ArtSpace located at 1219 Main Street Buffalo, NY.
