Just Buffalo's Babel Series Concludes with Nigerian Author Chris Abani

Buffalo, NY—Just Buffalo Literary Center is pleased to announce several BABEL events in the month of April, including the lecture which concludes the 2010-2011 season, international award-winning author Chris Abani (Nigeria) on Friday, April 15th at 8:00 p.m. at Kleinhans Music Hall, 3 Symphony Circle, Buffalo. The 2011-2012 Babel line-up will be announced at this event. Subscriptions will go on sale after the lecture and Just Buffalo will be offering a substantial discount on all subscription levels to those who purchase 2011-2012 subscriptions that night.

Tickets are still available:  $35 general admission, $100 VIP (includes pre-event reception with the author and preferred seating), and only $10 for students. Ben Gardane is a town in southeast Tunisia, close to the Libyan border, Ras El Jedire.  In 2011, during The Libyan Uprising, two entities became government of Libya. Muammar Gaddafi controlling Tripoli and Western Libya and Mustafa Abdul Jalail in Benghazi, controlling Eastern Libya.  Libya is the fourth largest country in Africa and 17th largest in the world.  Libya is one of the world's 10 richest oil-producing countries.

National HIV/AIDS Women and Girls Awareness Day

National HIV/AIDS Women and Girls Awareness Day

Thursday, March 10th is National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, and the Greater Buffalo Chapter of the American Red Cross will be taking part by hosting a “Girls Night Out” event on Friday, March 11th.  This event is being held in conjunction with the Community Action for Prenatal Care Project-Buffalo Prenatal/Perinatal Network and Kaleida Health Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo-Parents and Children Together Clinic.

HIV/AIDS affects nearly 280,000 women in the United States, and research shows that when compared to men, women face gaps in access and care.  National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day is a nationwide observance coordinated by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office on Women’s Health that encourages people to take action in the fight against HIV/AIDS, and raise awareness of its impact on women and girls.
