One Person Shot to Death on West Avenue | News

BUFFALO, NY - One person is dead after a shooting on West Avenue.

Police responded to the 600 block of West Avenue just before 2:30 Tuesday morning.

One man, 23-year-old Jose Rivera, was shot dead on the front porch of the home.

A woman at the house, 18-year-old Jessica Rivera, was taken to Erie County Medical Center also with a gunshot wound.

Police say her injuries are not life threatening.

Neighbors tell 2 On Your Side's Jim Herr that they heard at least 16 gunshots ring out shortly before the sirens from police and medical  crews were heard.

Homicide detectives are on the scene investigating the shooting.
