World Refugee Days Celebrated in Buffalo
BUFFALO, NY - For the third year in a row, The Buffalo Immigrant and Refugee Empowerment Coalition held an event that means so much to so many.
World Refugee Days was held to recognize and honor those refugees who are sometimes forced to leave their country under the threat of prosecution, conflict and violence.
BIREC says in 2011 alone Buffalo became home to almost 1,600 refugees. So they believe it is important to celebrate the refugees and the diversity of cultures here in Buffalo.
