Father, 8-Year-Old Son Injured in Motorcycle Crash

BUFFALO, N.Y. - A motorcycle rider and his young son who was a passenger were injured in a Niagara Street accident late Saturday.

Police say the motorcycle was heading north on Niagara when it collided with a vehicle travelling south shortly before 10 p.m.

The driver of the motorcycle, 48-year-old Merrill McCloskey, was taken to Erie County Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition in the trauma ICU.

The 8-year-old boy was taken to Women and Children's to be treated for minor injuries.

The accident happened near the corner of Niagara and Potomac Avenue. A total of 8 people, 2 adults and 6 children,  were in the SUV, none of which were injured.

Police say the accident remains under investigation and that charges are pending.
