Taste of Buffalo and Buffalo Firefighters to Heat Things Up this July | Events
Join Taste of Buffalo presented by Tops as they crown the City of Buffalo’s Ultimate Firehouse Chef at the 29th annual food festival this July. The Taste is shining the spotlight on the city’s everyday heroes in the “Smokin’ Hot Buffalo Firehouse Cook Off” presented by Buffalo Spree. All active City of Buffalo firefighters are encouraged to submit an original recipe. Two competitors will be selected to battle it out on the Taste’s Culinary Stage, located inside New Era Cap’s parking lot, during the event on Saturday, July 7 at 5pm.
“The Taste works with the Buffalo Fire Department year after year in setting up for our annual event and this year, we’re excited to be able to turn the spotlight on them and their firehouse culinary specialties,” said Chris Hitchcock, 2012 Taste chair. “If you are one or know an active City of Buffalo firefighter who knows his/her way around the firehouse kitchen, encourage them to enter!”
Any active City of Buffalo firefighter from any Engine/Ladder is eligible to submit an original recipe. Retired firefighters, family members, or other non-City of Buffalo Fire Department personnel are not eligible to enter. For more details and to register, visit www.tasteofbuffalo.com/firehouse-cook-off. Registration deadline is 11:59pm on May 1, 2012.
