“Gilda found it unbearably dull to be stuck in the single identity of ‘Gilda Joyce, thirteen-year-old,’ and she often wore costumes just to make life more interesting,” taken from the book, Gilda Joyce Psychic Investigator.  Author Jennifer Allison visits Buffalo’s Crane Library to speak about the creative writing process from story to the printed page and will read from her forthcoming book, Gilda Joyce and The Bones of the Holy.

Popular reading for 9 – 15 year-olds, the collection includes:  “Gilda Joyce: Psychic Investigator;”Gilda Joyce and The Ladies of the Lake;”Gilda Joyce and The Ghost Sonatas” and “Gilda Joyce and The Dead Drop”.  Compelling writing and colorful cover graphics portray Gilda as a spunky, confident and truly dedicated teenage investigator loved by millions of young adult readers all over the world.

Author Jennifer Allison holds a B.A. from the University of Michigan and an M.F.A. from American University. Her various careers have included work as a news reporter and high school English teacher. She has also held numerous odd jobs — piano player in a shopping mall, assembly-line worker for General Motors, waitress, preschool teacher — that have helped her generate ideas for interesting characters and fun stories.

Books will be available for sale at the Crane Library during the author visit by Talking Leaves Bookstore.
