How to Make Your Car Last Forever: Auto Q&A with Tom Torbjornsen

Dear Tom,

I own a 2000 Chevy Venture van with 54,000 miles. The transmission fluid has been changed twice and the coolant was changed about one year ago. Should I get the spark plugs changed before they get stuck in the head? The dealer wants to just clean them and not replace them. Thank you.

Coast Guard Helps Salvage Sinking Boat

BUFFALO, NY - Buffalo Coast Guard crews are trying to salvage a boat that hit the Bird Island Reef in the Niagara River and began to sink.

Around 4 pm the Coast Guard station received a call for help from a boat that was said to be carrying 3 people, one being a child.

The victims said they were able to anchor the boat after drifting in the vicinity of the Peace Bridge near the Black Rock break wall.

The Coast Guard was able to get all three people off the boat safely.

A local marine towing company continues to try and salvage the boat Sunday evening.
